Pan Granulator

Diverse Types of Horizontal Mixers

The granulation disc adopts an overall arc structure, and the granulation rate can reach more than 93%. The granulation tray is equipped with three outlets, which is convenient for intermittent production operations, greatly reduces labor intensity and improves labor efficiency. The reducer and the motor are driven by a flexible belt, which can start smoothly, reduce the impact force and improve the service life of the equipment. The bottom of the granulation tray is reinforced with multiple radiant steel plates, which is durable and never deformed. Thickened, heavier, and sturdy base design, no need for anchor bolts, stable operation.

Exploring the Pan Granulator: A Comprehensive Guide

pan-granulator

Working Process

  • Material Compression: Dry powder materials undergo degassing, pre-compression, and are fed into the arc-shaped slots of counter-rotating rollers. Forced compression occurs, and pressure decreases as materials flow naturally into crushers and shapers.

  • Sieving and Adjustment: Processed materials are sieved using a vibrating screen. Qualified products go to the finished product bin or are directly packaged. Undersized particles are reprocessed through secondary roller compression. Extrusion force adjusts via a hydraulic system, allowing for versatile shapes by changing groove patterns on roller

Applications

Horizontal mixers find versatile applications across various industries due to their efficient blending capabilities. Some common applications include:

  • Agriculture and Fertilizer Industry
  • Chemical Processing
  • Food and Beverage Production
  • Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
  • Construction Materials
  • Environmental Remediation:

Process

Raw Material Preparation

The materials to be granulated are prepared by grinding or crushing them into a fine powder. The composition of the powder may vary depending on the desired properties of the final granules.

Mixing and Moistening

The powdered materials are thoroughly mixed to ensure a uniform composition. A binding agent, such as water or a liquid binder, is added to the mixture to enhance the agglomeration process. The moisture content is carefully controlled to achieve optimal granulation.

Feeding to the Pan Granulator

The moistened powder mixture is evenly distributed onto the rotating pan granulator. The pan is typically inclined at a slight angle, allowing the material to move along the surface.

Agglomeration and Granulation

As the pan rotates, the material is subjected to centrifugal force and friction. The binding agent causes the fine particles to adhere together, forming small granules. The rolling action of the pan helps to round and compact the granules.

Size and Shape Control

The size and shape of the granules can be controlled by adjusting the operating parameters of the pan granulator, such as the pan speed, angle of inclination, and moisture content. Sieves or screens can be used to separate oversized or undersized granules.

Disc Granulator Working Video

The granulating disc of the disc granulator (also known as a ball disc) features an integral circular arc structure, achieving a granulation rate of over 93%. With three discharge outlets, it facilitates intermittent production, significantly reducing labor intensity and improving efficiency. The reducer and motor employ a flexible belt drive for smooth start-ups, reducing impact force and enhancing equipment lifespan.
